How to Become a Student
1. Schedule an appointment: Students must schedule a time to complete the registration in person at the LVWA office. This meeting will take approximately 30 minutes to an hour.
2. Complete the Student Application: This can be filled out online or at the LVWA office. If you’ve been a student before and nothing has changed, you don’t need to do it again.
**If you can’t read or translate a form, someone on our staff will help you**
3. Complete the English Placement Test: If you want to learn English, you must take a test. But don’t worry, it’s not about passing or failing. It’s just to see which class is right for you. You can take this test online or at the LVWA office.
4. What to expect at your appointment: During your meeting, the Program Coordinator will chat with you about what you want to learn. They’ll also look over your test and application.
5. Sign up and pay: Most classes last for 12 weeks and take place in both September to December and January to April. Registration fees are $30.00 per class or tutor assignment. Textbooks are $40.00 (For English class, that’s $70.00 total).
6. See you in class! Don’t forget to keep an eye on your phone and email for updates and reminders about class.
**If you are being matched with a tutor for one-on-one lessons, you will be contacted as soon as a tutor becomes available for you.**
