Literacy Volunteers Winchester Area is excited to announce a new book service through the BookSmart app. The app offers thousands of children’s books in English and Spanish and is available for download on mobile devices or desktops.
The app is provided through a partnership with Worldreader, an international nonprofit organization headquartered in the US working with partners all over the globe to get children reading at least 25 books per year. Since 2010, Worldreader has supported more than 22 million readers in over 100 countries.
The BookSmart digital reading app improves comprehension, digital literacy and emotional literacy skills for children ages 3-12 years old. BookSmart includes thousands of books in multiple languages; anytime, anywhere access on any device; reader engagement in the form of motivational messaging, challenges, and rewards to keep children reading; and data to help track progress.
